EURIDICE Specifications for HDS

IHE-Europe and HL7 Europe are, in collaboration with the Xt-EHR Joint Action of EU Member States, currently working under the EURIDICE label on a suite of specifications for health data spaces. These specifications are intended to be recommended to the European Commission for reference in the EHDS implementing acts to fulfill the EHDS regulation needs.

The specifications are intended to cover definitions for the major parts of the priority data categories and access log information, plus Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) through which the data could be communicated in the EHDS context.

These specifications aim to ensure seamless interoperability, standardized data exchange, and enhanced security across health data systems. By basing the specifications on  EHDS requirements, the EURIDICE initiative supports the creation of a unified framework that facilitates cross-border healthcare delivery and research through health data spaces, while protecting patient privacy and data integrity.

Therefore, the EURIDICE initiative draws from existing and proven global scope specifications and refines them, or also augments them with additional European scope specifications where needed, to in addition fulfill EHDS and related European regulation needs.

Note that this page reflects the current understanding regarding the needed interoperability specifications  and will evolve over time.
